Monitor Control is a Stream Deck plugin that gives you full hardware control of the Trinnov Nova monitor controller. It connects to your Nova over your local network via WebSocket and provides instant, tactile control of volume, presets, inputs, outputs, and monitoring functions — directly from your Stream Deck.

No. Monitor Control talks to your Nova directly over WebSocket. The Trinnov desktop application does not need to be open.

Open the Stream Deck application, click the Marketplace icon (top right), search for "Monitor Control," and click Install. You can also find it at www.soniccontrolstudios.com/nova-control.
Drag any Monitor Control action onto a key, click on the button or dial, and enter your Nova's IP address at the bottom (format: 192.168.1.100). This is a global setting — enter it once and every Monitor Control action uses it.
If DHCP is active, your Nova's IP address can change after a power cycle, and the plugin would lose its connection until you re-enter the new address. Setting a static IP means it always connects. See the Nova manual for network configuration.
All of them — Mini, MK.2, XL, Plus, Neo, and Mobile. The four rotary dial actions (Master Vol, Headphones Level, and the two Reference Level dials) require the Stream Deck + hardware encoders.
On Stream Deck +, Monitor Control renders live custom displays on the LCD touchscreen: a teal level bar in normal operation, red with a MUTE label when muted, amber with a DIM label when dimmed, steel blue for headphone level, and gray when headphones are disabled. You can tap the LCD to trigger the dial's press action.
Both — the plugin follows your Nova's display mode automatically. Reference level actions are available in dB (0 to −48 dB) and C-weighted SPL (56 to 90 dBc) versions for calibrated rooms.
When your Nova is in Sum mode, multiple inputs can be active at once, so pressing an Input Source key toggles that input in or out of the active set. In Single mode, pressing a key selects only that input. The plugin reads the current mode from your Nova automatically — no configuration needed.
No. The Input Active (Hold) action activates an input only while the key is held and returns to the previous input on release. When in Sum mode, it will engage the selected input within the Input Active (Hold) button in addition to the already engaged inputs. Enable "Dim While Held" in the button details to automatically engage Dim during talkback.

A green flash means a command was sent successfully; an exclamation point on the Stream Deck means it failed. If the issue persists, restart your Nova, Stream Deck software, or computer. If the problem continues please open a support ticket above.
The four dial actions require a Stream Deck + — they run on its rotary encoders and LCD touchscreen. On other models, use the equivalent button actions instead (Vol Up/Down, Level Set, etc.). If you're on a Stream Deck + and the LCD is blank, make sure the action is assigned to an encoder slot and restart the Stream Deck app.
Wait a few seconds for the initial sync after launch, then press any button to trigger a refresh. If it persists, restart the Stream Deck application.
If you've re-calibrated, adjust your Nova's Volume Display Offset so reference recall values align. Reference level keys show the target value; the dial updates after Nova processes the recall.
The plugin maintains a persistent WebSocket connection and reconnects automatically.
If you have both the Free and Pro versions installed, mixing buttons from each version on the same Stream Deck profile will cause slower reaction times — the two versions don't communicate directly with each other.
Monitor Control (Pro) is sold through the Elgato Marketplace, which processes all purchases, billing, and refunds. Please direct refund requests to Elgato in accordance with their Marketplace policy.
No. The plugin collects, transmits, and shares nothing. It communicates only with your Nova on your local network — no internet traffic, no external servers, no analytics, no tracking. Your IP address and button preferences are stored locally by the Stream Deck app on your own computer. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
