Overview
Monitor Control (Free) and Monitor Control (Pro) are Stream Deck plugins developed by Sonic Control LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data our plugins access, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Data Collection
We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.
Our plugins operate entirely on your local network. No data is sent to Sonic Control LLC, Elgato, or any third-party servers by the plugin.
Network Communication
Monitor Control communicates exclusively with your Nova monitor controller over your local area network (LAN) via the WebSocket protocol. This communication:
- Occurs only between your computer and your Nova device on your local network;
- Is initiated only after you manually enter your Nova’s IP address;
- Does not traverse the internet;
- Does not pass through any external servers;
- Contains only device control commands and status data (volume levels, preset names, input names, button states).
Data Storage
Monitor Control stores the following data locally on your computer using the Stream Deck SDK’s built-in settings system:
- Your Nova’s IP address (entered by you);
- Your button configuration preferences (selected presets, input IDs, step sizes, etc.);
- Plugin state (last known volume levels, button states).
This data is stored locally by the Stream Deck application and is never transmitted externally by the plugin. You can remove this data at any time by removing the plugin’s actions or uninstalling the plugin.
Payments and Purchases
Monitor Control (Pro) is purchased through the Elgato Marketplace. Any payment, billing, or account information you provide during purchase is collected and processed by Elgato, not by Sonic Control LLC. We do not receive, process, or store your payment details. Elgato’s handling of that information is governed by Elgato’s own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Monitor Control does not integrate with, communicate with, or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud services.
Cookies and Tracking
The Monitor Control plugin does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics, or any form of user tracking. (For analytics used on our website, see “Website Analytics” below.)
Website Analytics
This privacy policy covers the Monitor Control plugin, which collects no data. Separately, our website (soniccontrolstudios.com) uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand general site traffic and improve the experience. This applies only to the website, not to the Monitor Control plugin, which continues to collect and transmit no data whatsoever.
Google Analytics may set cookies and collect usage data such as pages visited, time on site, browser type, device information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Some of this information may constitute personal data under applicable law. This data is processed by Google as our analytics provider, and may be transferred to and stored on servers operated by Google, including in the United States.
Where required by law (including for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), we load Google Analytics only after you provide consent through the cookie banner presented on our website. You may withdraw consent at any time through the cookie controls on the website, decline non-essential cookies, or use Google’s browser opt-out add-on. If you do not consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
We retain website analytics data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, in accordance with the retention settings available in Google Analytics.
Your Rights (EEA / UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR give you rights over any personal data processed through our website. Because the Monitor Control plugin collects no data, these rights relate to website analytics data only.
Legal basis: We process website analytics data on the basis of your consent, which you provide through our cookie banner. You may withdraw that consent at any time.
Your rights include the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to request correction or erasure; to object to or restrict processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. Your Rights
Because Monitor Control does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no personal information from the plugin for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Any configuration data created by the plugin remains on your own computer and under your control, and can be removed as described under “Data Storage” above. Children’s Privacy
Monitor Control is professional audio software not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions, such as the European Economic Area, where that higher age applies). Because the plugin collects no personal data from any user, no such information is gathered in any case.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the plugin after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
